How WoodDrop Works
Firewood to Your Door — How WoodDrop Works
Three steps from order to delivery. No account. No waiting on hold. Choose your wood, pick a window, and a vetted Cape Town supplier brings it to your door.
How does ordering firewood on WoodDrop work?
WoodDrop connects you with vetted Cape Town firewood suppliers through an online marketplace. You place a single order, choose a delivery window, and the supplier delivers to your address. Every step — choosing wood, payment, and tracking — happens on the WoodDrop website. You don't need to call anyone or create an account.
Choose your wood and quantity
Browse seven hardwoods and two kindling options. Each product page shows burn time, density, moisture content, and a guide to which use it's best for (braai, open fireplace, or closed combustion). Choose a Drop (≈ 15 kg), half bakkie (≈ 255 kg / 17 Drops), or full bakkie (≈ 510 kg / 34 Drops).
Pick a delivery window
Select the date and time that works for you. WoodDrop operates Monday to Saturday 7 am–7 pm and Sunday 8 am–5 pm. A vetted local supplier is matched to your order and confirmed in your chosen window.
Pay online and get your wood
Payment is taken securely via iKhokha before delivery. Once your order is accepted by a supplier, you'll receive a WhatsApp confirmation. Your wood arrives in your chosen window — stacked or placed as agreed at delivery.
What is a Drop and how much wood is it?
A Drop is WoodDrop's standard delivery unit — approximately 15 kg of firewood. For most wood types this is roughly a full wheelbarrow load, or 10 to 30 pieces depending on the species and how it is split. Kindling Drops are approximately 10 kg.
For larger volumes: a half bakkie is approximately 255 kg (17 Drops) and a full bakkie is approximately 510 kg (34 Drops). All weights are approximate — natural firewood varies in density and size.
What makes WoodDrop different from a local supplier?
Moisture-tested wood
WoodDrop only lists wood that has been moisture-tested. Every batch must meet the stated moisture range before it appears on the catalogue.
Vetted suppliers
Every supplier on WoodDrop has been screened, agreed to WoodDrop's standards, and is accountable under a supplier agreement.
You choose the window
Delivery isn't a vague 'sometime today'. You pick the date and window that works for you at the time of ordering.
Secure online payment
Pay by card via iKhokha before delivery. No cash needed. Your card details are never stored by WoodDrop.
Money-back guarantee
If the wood doesn't light, WoodDrop's guarantee applies. Contact us on WhatsApp and we'll sort it out.
No account needed
Place an order without registering. Your WhatsApp number is used to verify your order — that's all.
What payment methods does WoodDrop accept?
WoodDrop accepts card payments via iKhokha — a South African payment processor. Visa and Mastercard (credit and debit) are accepted. Payment happens online before your order is confirmed. WoodDrop does not store your card details, and iKhokha processes the transaction on their PCI-compliant systems.
Money-back guarantee: If your wood does not light — meaning you've tried a proper firelighter and followed basic fire-lighting technique — WoodDrop will refund you. Message us on WhatsApp (+27 60 018 9663) with your order number and a brief description.
